‘Tramp a Benz’: Hitchhiking across Europe Only with Mercedes-Benz

Usually hitchhikers are not very picky about cars of what brands to travel by. Stefan Gbureck, Berlin-based emerging street photographer, performance artist and an ex-Hugo Boss-model, is different. Ten days ago, on November 30, the creative mind launched adventurous expedition ‘Tramp a Benz’ by going on a road trip to the south with Mercedes-Benz exclusively. He has also started his travelling photo blog for everyone interested to follow his unprecedented journey from German capital to where the destiny will take him.

The destination is “the south, as fast and safe as possible. Maybe Milano and then all along the French Riviera. Maybe back through France and via Stuttgart to Berlin. Or maybe somewhere completely different,” says he on the blog. The man seems to be extremely Spartan—he can sleep on the ground (that’s just how he spent his previous night in his sleeping bag outdoor, in the woods near to Montpellier, France, when it was just about 1 or 2° degrees), he can stand for hours waiting for another car to pick him up, he can adapt to literally any environment, but he has one condition that is unchangeable. Stefan is committed to tramp only with Mercedes-Benz—“The best or nothing.

So far, Gbureck has visited a bunch of places, ranging from Munich to Ventimiglia, a small Italian “town without Internet.” Now, he’s making to Spain, but, of course, can’t tell for sure which city he will end up in this night. There’s also a Google map in the hub, where Stefan marks the places he’s just visited. The traveller also updates his Facebook page and is also going to post some videos to his YouTube profile (as for now, it’s empty).
