Twitter, which celebrated its 7th birthday last month, has launched an updated, redesigned platform for businesses. The online destination offers companies of all sizes a deep insight into how to turn Twitter into a powerful tool for monetization, increasing brand awareness, driving web traffic and more.

The site features three big sections, The Art of the Tweet, Terrific Examples, and Tools You Need, which educate users on how to leverage Twitter platform for their businesses. The first section unveils basics about the micro-blogging service and tells how to build a Twitter community and use it for marketing purposes. For instance, the 101 sub-section explains Twitter’s terms and details how Twitter can help your business.
The Terrific Examples section features case studies, which can be viewed by industry tactic, product, goal, and company size. The list of companies that used Twitter to promote their service and products and mobilize their online fan community includes MTV, LG, Cadbury Wispa, Zappos, and many more.
In Tools You Need, Twitter also details in a step-by-step fashion how Twitter advertising products—Promoted Accounts, Promoted Tweets and Analytics—work. The social media platform explains why businesses need to advertise on Twitter and also outlines the pricing and support policy.
Twitter has also released a video titled “What can your business do…in just 140 characters?” where it looks back at #success brands’ stories and invites businesses to explore the opportunities Twitter provides for them.
Yesterday, on April 1, Twitter announced a “groundbreaking change” for its platform. It announced that starting Monday, users of basic Twitter account would be able to write Tweets only with consonants. To be able to use vowels, users were asked to pay $5 for a premium Twitter service. Of course, it was just a joke.
