The new Home Tab will allow images, videos and conversations embedded within the feed so you have a comprehensive view of the current stories. The Connect Tab lets you see how other users are interacting with you. You will be able to view who is following you, mentioning you, retweeting or favoriting your posts, all in one place.
Discover Tab is a customized one showing all news and trends according to your interests. It will automatically pull up news related to your location and who you follow. Me Tab is a way to introduce yourself, including sharing your bio, photo, interests and a feed of your tweets. With Tweet Tab you can send tweets instantly from any location on Twitter. You can also tag your location or upload media like images and videos directly from your computer or phone.
Along with the redesign announcement, Twitter has presented a new way to let bloggers embed tweets that give visitors the ability to reply, retweet and favorite without leaving the page. To do it, Twitter users now can place embeddable tweets on their websites by using one line of code.
But that’s not all. Yesterday Twitter launched brand pages with 21 marketers including American Express, Bing, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Dell ,Disney, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Kia, McDonald’s, Nike, PepsiCo, Verizon Communications, Heineken, and Paramount Pictures to name a few. With this move, Twitter challenges Facebook and Google+ that have brand pages and make their profit from strengthening communication with brands through advertising, reports Ad Age.
In addition, Twitter has unveiled its next headquarters in San Francisco to house Twitter’s team in June. The new space suggests a company with grand ambitions, says Mashable. As Twitter has a great ambition to “reach every person on the planet”, according to Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, it will move into its new 215,000 square feet headquarters. The company said it plans to increase its team from the current 700 people to some 3,000 within the next few years.
