UNIQLO established itself as the most compassionate fashion brand when its CEO and chairman donated $12 million of his own money to cope with the aftermath of Japanese earthquake and technological catastrophe. However, the company is determined to give more to help restore the country, and is uniting top fashion designers and pop-artists under the umbrella of the noble cause entitled ‘Save Japan’.

The brand has initiated collaboration with fashion icons that has seen them creating designs for T-shirts. The list of celebrities who has contributed to the project includes Lady Gaga, Karl Lagerfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Alber Elbaz, Blake Lively, Charlize Theron, Cyndi Lauper, Victoria Beckham, and Orlando Bloom. Each of them has presented a signature T-shirt with inspiring graphics or message addressed to the people of Japan.
According to fashionista.com, the shirts will hit UNIQLO stores in June 25 and are said to be priced at $19.99 each. The revenue generated during the campaign (which is expected to reach 100 mln. yen) will be donated to Red Cross in Japan.
The current charitable initiative is organized by UNIQLO in collaboration with Condé Nast Group—a supporter of the Save Japan! website and the publisher of Vogue Japan and GQ Japan.
