Volkswagen Launches 2010 Planeta Terra «Ticket Corrida» on Twitter

Volkswagen Brazil is giving out tickets to the upcoming 2010 Planeta Terra festival to people, who like to use Twitter and do it massively. The auto brand has launched so called “corrida” on the popular micro-blogging platform to be rolling out for four days, November 16-19. People are invited to ‘hunt down’ the tickets for the festival to be arranged in São Paulo this Saturday by tweeting.

Starting Tuesday, each day the brand encourages people on Twitter to join the movement by posting short messages with #foxnoplanetaterra the hash tag. The tickets are given out at a secret location in the city where the long-awaited music event featuring Mika, Phoenix and Smashing Pumpkins will be hosted. The more tweets there will be, the less is the radius of the area on the virtual map, which is located on the dedicated website. Each day they will choose a new location.

Once the number tweets of the day is reached (on the first day, it was 1000), a password will appear on the site. To claim their pair of tickets, participants have to arrive to the spot, come up to the brand representative and say the secret word. The number of invitations is limited—five pairs for the first three days, and just three pair for the last day of the action,—so music fans have to be really fast both tweeting and running.

The campaign was developed by the AlmapBBDO agency.
