Wonderful news for nature lovers and creative filmmakers: now these two can merge together to celebrate 50th anniversary of WWF by making the connection between people and the nature in a short film competition.
‘Life. Nature. You. Make the Connection. Competition’ was launched by WWF on June 20, offering creative talents, both emerging and established ones, to express their passion for the environment. They are asked to inspire people to value and protect the natural world in a two-minute story using any medium—live action, animation, fiction or documentary.
“Film and video are increasingly important to reach mass audiences and inspire people to love nature,” said Martin Atkin, WWF International’s Media Director, reports www.close-upfilm.com. The competition is being hosted on Vimeo, and will be live at panda.org/videocomp till its deadline October 9.
Two prizes will be offered—one decided by WWF and the other chosen by people vote. Each winner will be commissioned by WWF to make a short film with a budget of $10,000. In addition, the two winners will be invited to the prestigious CMS Vatavaran film festival in New Delhi, India, in December to receive their awards and present films.
According to Green Renaissance Blog, WWF hopes to reach as many people as possible with this competition. Anyone can try to spread the word, helping to raise the number of entries that will contribute to global environmental awareness.
