Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Brazil Engages Kids in Developing Campaigns

Back in 2004, Yahoo! launched its Big Idea Chair award to recognize the best practices in the interactive marketing sphere all around the globe. To support the launch of this year’s phase in Brazil, the Everything, integrated communications company, which is a part of ABC Group, developed a series of hilarious episodes «Little Kids, Big Ideas,» featuring children of 7-12 years old, who are acting as creative stuff of a mini-agency.

The project, which has kicked off August 2, is designed as a reality show, with new episodes airing each week on the www.bigideachair.com.br website. The team of 5 kids, which were selected out of a hundred children, are approached with tasks to develop integrated campaigns, using colored pencils, pens and paper—this week kids are making a project to battle water waste. The creative process is recorded with 10 cameras, which are hidden here and there in the house. The promotional campaign project is titled “O que a sua ideia quer ser quando crescer?” (“What does your idea want to be when it grows up?”)—and who knows, maybe in 10 years these kids will be engaged in creating real projects at big agencies.

To stay tuned in and know more about the ‘kids agency office’ as well as about the award, those who are interested in the digital advertising can go to the Twitter, Flickr, Facebook and YouTube pages of the Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Brazil. The creatives are also encouraged to upload their own related works for free by August 29, when the submission finishes. The receivers of this year’s Brazilian award will be determined by the jury of local experts and will get an international fame. In 2009 and 2008, the grand prizes were handed to Agenciaclick for Fiat’s T-Racer project and to CuboCC for Axe Dark Temptation’s Homem chocolate case respectively.
