Pedro Almodóvar’s collection of Illy coffee cups is growing. First the brand launched espresso cup line “Los Abrazos Rotos” (Broken Embraces), which was based on the director’s latest film of the same name, and then the collection was expanded by a set of 6-cup limited-edition inspired by other movies of the Spanish filmmaker.
Starbucks Corporation got a mighty and growing rival, an Italian IllyCaffe SpA, which is successfully taking over the US premium coffee market. The Trieste-based corporation signed agreements with around 30 independent coffee shops, many of which are located in traditional Starbucks area, and is going to win one hundred more all around America in coming 3 years — not only in the USA, but in Canada and Mexico as well.
Starbucks coffee chain in UK decided to partner with (RED), the Global Fund organization in rendering support to AIDS fight campaigns in Africa. The company created the (Starbucks) RED Card and is going to make it come in use soon. The idea is that every time the customers take and use the (RED) card at participating coffee-shop outlets, Starbucks will give 5p to the Global Fund.
