Microsoft Presents the New Cloud-based Outlook Service Instead of Hotmail

Soon after revealing of the Office 15, Microsoft has published a preview of the new Outlook app, which now looks and feels more modern and convenient to use. In addition to a desktop application and a service for businesses, Microsoft is offering Outlook as a personal email service at Outlook.com. This service is to replace its popular Hotmail.

The new free Outlook is cloud-based allowing users to access their emails wherever they are. The interface became cleaner and simpler to navigate. There are no display ads or large search boxes that take up extra space. Outlook.com is also the first email service that is connected to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, and will be soon connected to Skype to make it easier for users to share their content. The service is customizable; you can yourself select which networks you connect to.

What makes the new Outlook.com really different from other email services is that it automatically sorts your messages from contacts, newsletters, shipping updates, and social updates.  The Sweep feature you can arrange your emails and set up rules how the emails will be organized.

Free Office Web Apps such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote let users view and edit attachments without leaving their inbox.

Microsoft says it keeps all emails confidential and avoids scanning users’ email content or attachments and selling this information to advertisers and there are no ads in personal conversations. The Outlook inbox features virtually unlimited storage, spam protection, and “rock solid” account protection powered by the Microsoft account.

Microsoft invites users to try out the new Outlook right now without leaving their current email box. Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo and other email service users can preview the new product online at http://www.outlook.com. Outlook can also be set up on a phone or tablet.
