To celebrate the publication of 800th issue, Hot Press in cooperation with Absolut announced a contest for designers dubbed ‘CREATE//COLLABORATE’. All creative minds are welcome to design a cover for Hot Press using any tools they have at hand and in mind including Photoshop, photographs, hand-drawn illustrations and so on.
«The subject of your initial cover submission is up to you. The objective is to thrill us, impress us – and inspire us to shortlist you! It might be your favourite artist, or indeed any other interpretation of the design brief. Photoshop it, draw it, paint it, photograph it, scribble it, design it – create it. The look and feel of what you submit is entirely up to you!»—says Hot Press team at the page of the contest, where those interested in participating may find more detailed information about the terms and conditions.
10 winners shortlisted out of the total number of applicants, will get a chance to design a Hot Press cover that the whole Europe will hit the news-stands across Europe.
Speaking on the creative collaboration contest, Richard Brickley, marketing manager, Absolut stressed that design has always been a significant ingredient of the brand tradition. He said: “Not only do we want to collaborate with the big stars of today, but also the talent of tomorrow». «Keith Haring, Tom Ford, Gianni Versace and Annie Liebowitz are just some of the 400 international artists who collaborated with Absolut since Andy Warhol produced the first artistic interpretation of the iconic bottle in 1985. In less than 30 years, Absolut has gone from fashionable vodka to pop art icon through its partnership with the ‘creative community.”
