Absolut Has Released Its «Lemon Drop» Short Movie

Absolut has eventually presented its much anticipated short web video titled “Lemon Drop” in the style, which takes us back to the B-movies of 70-s with its simple plot and retro environment. The film, which was premiered yesterday, September 7, was announced in summer through a special tab created on the brand’s Facebook page to promote the launch and feature trailers.

The movie starring which Ali Larter (“Heroes”) is a detective story with a sentimental touch. The main heroine, Lemon Drop, is a blond young lady with a gorgeous body and sharp wits. She seems to be a very sweet girl who is tender and vulnerable, but when her beloved kittens are mysteriously kidnapped, she is ready to face any danger to rescue them. Lemon Drop manages to find the man who has stolen the puffy kittens—it is Johnny Thunderbird, a singer who somehow can extract cat’s meows and transform them into his angle voice. Of course, in the end he loses all the felines as well as his life.

The idea of “Lemon Drop” was developed at the BWA\Chiat\Day agency, New York, and the spot was directed by Traktor. The movie, which has a bunch of visual similarities with Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” with the yellow suit of the actress and long zooms-ins on faces and things, seems to be the longest promotional video ever shot for the Absolut Vodka with citron flavours. Though, it doesn’t feature the alcohol product at all—the only cocktail there is a shrimp one.
