ABSOLUT Vodka Brings «México,» the New Limited-Edition Bottle, to the USA

ABSOLUT Vodka is expanding its collection of the city-themed bottles with ABSOLUT México. The design of the limited-edition bottle pays homage to the country’s rich artistic heritage, which is reflected through vibrant images inspired by the visual aesthetics of the Mexican culture. For the project, the vodka brand tapped Jeronimo Lopez Ramirez aka Dr. Lakra, a celebrated contemporary artist and tattooist, who infuses traditional Mexican art with the elements of modern youth culture.

The bottle arrives to the USA after debuting in its home country Mexico in 2012. For the design, the artist selected three most important visual icons, related to the ancient Mayan culture—Hurakan (God of Wind, Storm and Fire), Kukulkan (Serpent) and Balam (Jaguar), painted using flamboyant color palette. The front of the 750ml bottle features an image of  jaguar, while on the back there are two more animals, a green snake and a blue wind.

For ABSOLUT Vodka, no one was a better choice for our collaboration than Dr. Lakra, with his technique of weaving in the design of existing objects, and in this case, an ABSOLUT Vodka bottle,” commented Maxime Kouchnir, Vice President, Vodkas, Pernod Ricard USA. “ABSOLUT México aims to further inspire cocktail lovers with the ABSOLUT brand, connecting the versatility of our vodka to the vibrant Mexican culture, which this design’s stunning effect does perfectly.”

Earlier this year, the brand unveiled another limited-edition bottle from the geographical series—it was ABSOLUT Moscow created by Russian fashion designer Alena Akhmadullina.
