With the philosophy and name inspired by the Olympic Games, Opening Ceremony comprises multi-branded retail stores and has its own in-house collection. The collaboration of two super popular brands is expected to be wildly successful.

The OC founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are expected to take their hand to the project. If they do they will be definitely challenged to excel adidas’ last big designer collaboration with Stella McCartney which had tremendous success.

The specific line will consist of about 100 products, including both clothing (priced from $100 to $630) and footwear ($140 to $325) and appear across adidas stores in New York, LA and Tokyo. The first products kick off at the opening Ceremony and Adidas Original locations early this July.

«The idea of Opening Ceremony re-creating Adidas Originals products with their creative sensibility in mind was something that intrigued us,» the label’s global creative director, Dirk Schoenberger, told WWD. «Once we delved deeper, we discovered Opening Ceremony’s close ties to the idea of the Olympics and with London coming up this year, it was just the perfect fit.»
