The World Cup 2010 has not even started yet but the trophy has been touring since late 2009 thanks to a promotion sponsored by Coca-Cola Company. Over 225 days and visiting five continents, 84 countries, 94 cities, traveling over 93,000 miles, and touched by over 500,000 people and the FIFA World Cup Tour sponsored by Coca-Cola is almost complete as the trophy is now in South Africa for the final leg of its journey.
The largest global tour to date for the 18-carat gold trophy has had an African flair brought to them as Somali hip-hop artist K’NAAN has been treating the fans to live performances of his hit ‘Waving Flag – Coca-Cola Celebration Mix’. This is the anthem of the campaign for Coca-Cola for the 2010 FIFA’s World Cup.
Visitors were also able to view a special 3-D movie showcasing memorable moments of the FIFA World Cup, entertaining musical performances and juggling acts, play 5-a-side games and go head to head in EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup video consoles.
