The UK’s leading stationer Ryman Stationery and the ad agency Grey London have commissioned 26 British established designers to create «beautifully sustainable» posters to promote the «world’s most sustainable» font Ryman Eco. It uses 33% less ink than a standard font, so it could save up to 490 million ink cartridges every year if all the printing was done with it.

Although cigarettes and tobacco products are not something we cover at all (we deleted on purpose all the design and marketing news on this category since 2008 from ethical considerations), the redesign project for Davidoff’s Winston Churchill Cigars is much more than just a nice identity for another tobacco product. It’s a piece of Britain’s history recited masterfully by branding agency DewGibbons + Partners and ad agency Johnny Fearless.

On October 28th, Russia unveiled the logo of the upcoming international football championship to be hosted in the country in a four-year time. The Official Emblem of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia was revealed by FIFA president Sepp Blatter during a popular evening show on the state-owned TV channel «Pervyi Kanal»—surprisingly, over a video feed from space… where Russian astronauts from the International Space Station «Mir» actually «showed» the logo to the planet Earth.
