26-year old British artist Ian Cook created a great picture of Chevrolet Spark. This one, as well as over 40 Chevrolet cars (each of them is an individual artwork), is painted with the help of driving remote control cars and by rolling used car tyres with paint over the vehicles’ surface.
“I’ve done several commissions for Chevrolet before, so when the opportunity to be the first person ever to create an image of the Spark came along, I couldn’t turn it down. I’ve always loved Chevrolet cars, right back to models such as the classic Camaro, so as a car nut the association with Chevrolet is fantastic”, said the artist.
Cook can create his pieces of auto art live as well – he added more colour to Camaro Convertible Concept, Beat Concept (which later developed into Spark) and Lacetti WTCC car at the 2008 British Motor Show. Last year the young artist also showed his talent before public during the race weekend when painted a picture of WTCC Cruze live at Brands Hatch.
Recently Chevrolet commissioned Cook, who created the latest variant of the famous Chevrolet ‘bow-tie’ emblem, to become the UK judge in the pan-European Young? Creative? Chevrolet! Contest. The competition is for art students from Europe.
