Clearasil Joins Forces with MTV to Help Teens Make the Clear Choice

Clearasil and MTV Networks launch a new public service campaign, ‘Make the Clear Choice,’ promoting awareness and education about drug and alcohol abuse, sexual health, self esteem and other important issues young adults face today.  This powerful new campaign kicked off last night, on February 14, with a public service announcement featuring MTV News Correspondent, Suchin Pak.

The PSA encourages viewers to visit Act.MTV.com, a new MTV platform that celebrates young people having an impact on issues they care about, and makes it easy for anyone to take action and get involved.  In addition to the PSA, Clearasil is launching a Facebook campaign to engage their core audience by donating up to $30,000 split among three non-profit organizations whose mission is to help teens make clear choices.

«Teens and young adults are facing tough choices every day that don’t always have a clear choice,» said Kevin Harshaw, Personal Care Marketing Director.  «We are very excited to be partnering with MTV to create a campaign that engages these young adults.  As a highly recognized name in the acne market, we look for ways to take a responsible approach to teen issues

Clearasil has created the ‘Make the Clear Choice’ campaign as part of a larger brand platform to empower and help build self esteem among their core target audience.  In conjunction with the PSA airing on MTV Networks, Clearasil is launching the brand’s Facebook page by giving consumers a place to learn more about making clear choices and taking action.  As part of this initiative, Clearasil is teaming up with Partnership at DrugFree.org; StayTeen.org; and The Jed Foundation’s Love is Louder campaign, which provide a positive resource for young adults. For every new Facebook user who ‘likes’ Clearasil, the Brand will donate a dollar to each of the three non-profit organizations totaling up to $10,000 per charity.
