Coca-Cola Changes Digital Presence in the UK

Coca-Cola has recently scrapped its “Let’s Get Together” forum site in lieu of a new look site forming their main corporate presence in the United Kingdom.

The new site, simply titled Coca-Cola Great Britain, developed by the digital firm Zone, will replace several websites including Letsgettogether.co.uk.  The hub will not be used any longer once the questions and answers section of the site can be incorporated into the new central site as it exits beta stage.

The new site is vibrant with the iconic Coca-Cola red is set to provide consumer information as well as information for stakeholders and media contacts. Information on the site will be primarily about health, environment, brand information and community news, and will also include multi-media content about Coca-Cola’s brands. Other regional interests will be added as the FIFA World Cup 2010 is now.

The next step, according to the soft drink giant, is to expand beyond the website into social media sites in an innovative and interactive way.

«The biggest and most interesting challenge has been the primary target audience: mums. Not a market you’d necessarily think would be interested in the stories behind Coca-Cola drinks – but as the person usually responsible for key household purchasing choices, it’s Mum who gets to decide what’s poured into your glass with dinner«, comments Gina Schauffer, editor at Coca-Cola.co.uk.
