Coke Employs Digital Media

Coca-Cola actively uses social media web-sites for its products promotion and is not going to leave it in the nearest future. The digital platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube are bringing bore and more consumers to the brand by raising the awareness of the company among the Internet users.

The giant soft drinks maker has launched a new campaign named Expedition 206, which will be covered primarily by website created just for this purpose. The aim of the campaign is to visit more than two hundred countries, where Coca-Cola products will be sold over the course of 2010, and find out what makes people happy.

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the World Cup in South Africa and the World Expo in Shanghai will be also arranged with the help of the red-and-white brand. The 20-th anniversary of McDonald’s trading in Russia won’t do without some new Coke’s website developed specifically for the event.

The company doesn’t seem to spend its money on something not going to deliver, so if Coca-Cola is getting so serious about digital media now, it is really turning to be more profitable than conventional advertising. TV is becoming history.
