Dior Released ‘Lady Grey London,’ the Final Installment of the Colours- and Capitals-Themed Saga

Dior has presented John Cameron Mitchell-directed short-film entitled ‘Lady Grey London’, the fourth and the last installment of the colour saga, which takes the viewers across the globe. The creators of the video decided to dedicate it to the grey colour because it crowns the traditional weather palette of the capital and is considered to be one of the emblematic colours of the fashion brand. Just as it is with the previous videos, the key character of the story is played by award-winning French actress Marion Cotillard.

The first film from the saga, Paris thriller ‘The Lady Noire Affair’ directed by Olivier Dahan, was released back in May, 2009, and later it was followed by ‘Lady Rouge’ by Jonas Akerlund featuring Marion as the sultry songstress in New York (August, 2009) and love story ‘Lady Blue Shanghai’ by David Lynch (May 2010). So, this is also a set of films about capitals—both official and non-official ones. In the new mini-movie she is playing a mysterious burlesque artist with a bag, containing a lot of quite simple things, which still mean a lot to some people around her (among them there are characters played by Sir Ian McKellen and Russell Tovey). The story ends with Cotillard’s dancing inside the London Eye.  The film was officially released yesterday, December 8, on www.ladydior.com. The visitors to the site can also view behind-the-scenes video and stills.

The campaign also features visuals, which allow watching the movie on your mobile device. Dior used the latest technology of image recognition, enabling to take the film to the screen of a mobile phone by scanning the visual of the print campaign from a poster, a magazine, or from a computer screen. Those, who want to do it, are invited to download the free WiMO application from www.getwimo.com, launch it on the mobile device and take a picture of the image.
