Dulux simplifies the job of interior decorators with a color matching app

Dulux Australia is presenting its new Colour App, designed by Isobar, that helps interior decorators and amateurs alike to match colors easier. To promote the application, the paint manufacturer is airing a spot by Clemenger BBDO that reveals the playful nature of colors along with some great ways to use it.

The application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch provides users with practical and functional tips on how to change their interiors and exteriors with a touch of color. The Dulux Colour helps find the Dulux match to any color using the Capture tool, browse and save the captured and selected tones for later, visualize the users’ favorite colors in different settings, access the complete Dulux library that contains more than 4,500 colors that can be searched visually or by name, and more.

User can also read expert opinions with the Dulux 2014 Colour Trends—Future Tribes—as well as discover best-selling Dulux colors. This year’s trendiest color schemes are The Digital Nomads, The Precious Elements, The Romantic Spirit, and The Retro Visionaries.

“The Dulux Colour app’s core focus is making it easy to capture colours in everyday life, and exploring the big range of Dulux colours in a fun and interactive way,” commented Erik Hallander, director of mobile & innovation at Isobar. “We understood the upside of creating a very strong app in terms of influencing that path to purchase. This is more than a toy, it has a real role to play as the category evolves and Australians continue to consult with digital at store level.”

The 30-second ad in a somewhat surrealistic manner reveals the physical extraction of color in the form of geometrical elements that can be further dissolved in another space. Last month, Dulux UK released a retro-inspired ad that told a story of  the“color prohibition” times and revealed the emotional side of the painting experience.
