Facebook Will Help Brand Create Fan Pages

Facebook will help brands promote themselves on the social networking website. It has announced setting up a directory of consultants, who will render practical support to companies in their creating pages on Facebook. The group will include 14 professionals with a strong track record of developing various applications.

The group of initial consultants from the Preferred Developer Consultant Program will have retail specialist Fluid (collaborated with Calvin Klein Fragrance), Buddy Media (American Express and Starwood Hotels), and Involver (Puma and Southwest Airlines). They together with other professionals will help companies and celebrities create their own page, optimize it the best way possible and fill it with applications to promote the name and the products.

The group can grow, but the newcomers have to show a portfolio of Facebook applications or pages they have already created.

Facebook has made around $550m this year, and in 2010 their revenues are predicted to reach 1 billion.
