Facebook’s embedded posts make the social network #1 even more ubiquitous

Following the latest introduction of the hashtags, another new option that has been previously available on Twitter and its video addition Vine (and lately Instagramm, too), is being rolled out this week  on Facebook—embedded posts. The feature will allow bloggers and online media publishers to embed public Facebook posts with multimedia content by copying and pasting the code onto their sites. So far just few media companies have got the privilege of testing the option—among which are CNN, Huffington Post, Bleacher Report, PEOPLE and Mashable.

«When embedded, posts can include pictures, videos, hashtags and other content,» they continued. «People can also like and share the post directly from the embed. Every day, public figures, journalists and millions of regular people share their thoughts on what’s happening around the world on Facebook publicly. Many journalists post detailed commentary about world events from their Facebook timeline,» Facebook engineers Dave Capra and Ray He wrote in a blog post.

Embedded posts are to be rolled these coming weeks. The new feature is set to expand Facebook’s presence on the Internet and its appeal to members increasingly accessing the Internet on the go with smartphones or tablets.
