‘Facecook’: Facebook-Inspired Cooker Launched

Belling, which celebrates its 100th anniversary next year, is creating a world cooking first by taking its Facebook fans’ profile pictures and producing a montage which will be specially printed onto a Belling Classic range cooker.

The unique ‘Facecook’ cooker is being developed to celebrate Belling’s sponsorship of the BBC Good Food Show Winter which runs from the 23-27 November at the NEC in Birmingham.

Cooking fans who want to see their face on a unique cooker have until 9am on 14 November to ‘like’ Belling’s Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/BellingUK.
The company has developed an app so each time someone ‘likes’ its Facebook page, their profile image is uploaded onto a Belling cooker; the app then gives the user the opportunity to share among their Facebook followers.

The app will remain live until 14 November at which point the montage of digital images will be printed onto a Belling Classic cooker and transported to the NEC.
Jane Rylands, Brand Manager for Belling, said, “We wanted to do something a little different and something involving our fans to celebrate our sponsorship of the BBC Good Food Shows this year. Whilst this is a one-off cooker, who knows, if it’s a popular request, then we might create Facebook-inspired cooker designs in the future.”
The company is giving away a pair of show tickets every day of the campaign and there is also the chance to win a Belling Classic cooker worth around £1,000. The campaign has been created by Belling’s PR and social media agency, Umpf.
