Flushtracker—Web-based App to Track Toilet Flushes from Domestos

Domestos, the Unilever brand has launched Flushtracker—a web-based application that enables users to track the progress and rout of their toilet flushes based on the location of the toilet and time of flush. The app provides approximate data on the current location of a flush as well as the distance traveled.

This quirky app was developed by Lean Mean Fighting Machine digital agency. The map currently supports and covers several thousand kilometers of London sewers, as well as sewers across UK and Ireland. Moverover, it offers to view the sewers of the Buckingham Palace, Kremlin and Taj Mahal.

Domestos considers the release of this strange app as a huge step in support of World Toilet Organization. The application was unveiled on Friday, November 12, the World Toilet Day. By doing so and encouraging users to test the application, the brand aims to raise public awareness of the fact that more than 2.5 billion people all over the world have no access to clean and private toilet facilities and are more vulnerable to diseases as a result.
