Google Entering Social Media World. Again

A tweet by Kevin Rose, founder of Digg, that Google was developing a social network application called “Google Me” has the internet world talking. The statement, which has since been removed, is more than just a rumor according to Adam D’Angelo, founder of Quora and former CTO of Facebook.

In a Q&A session on his website, D’Angelo confirmed the effort saying «this is not a rumor. This is a real project. There are a large number of people working on it. I am completely confident about this

Social networking media has been a goal for search engine giant that just has not been reached. Google Buzz caused issues with privacy when launched and has not caught on with consumers since then. Whether this new application would replace the unsuccessful one remains to be seen.

They realized that Buzz wasn’t enough and that they need to build out a full, first-class social network. They are modeling it off of Facebook,” stated D’Angelo.
