Guinness is treating its fans with a new variety of its traditional beer. Guinness Black Lager in 330ml bottles, which is now being trialed in Northern Ireland, gives the drinker the desired refreshment of a lager and surprises with its unique great taste. The new beer derives from the parent dry stout, and the dark colour is achieved by malting it for a longer time.
The drink was created as a response of a great demand for black lager. Now this variety is presented by Budvar Dark and Brewdog’s Zeitgeist, but would it be Guinness if it didn’t unveil its own product of that kind?
“Guinness Black Lager, like all lagers, is characterized by its refreshing taste. The addition of Guinness expertise, roasted barley and a late hopping imparts a taste that is unique among lagers,” noted Michael McCann, head of Diageo Northern Ireland.
