Levi’s to Open Its Photo Workshop

From printing workshops to photo classes—Levi’s is about to launch the next round of its “We Are All Workers” extensive campaign, which has been rolling out across the USA since June. For two months, from July 1 through August 28, the brand has been encouraging San Francisco-based creatives to come to one of its dedicated venues and dive into the process of creating unique prints and learning the secrets of the industry. Now, Levi’s is paying tribute to another iconic city of the US, New York, by opening The Levi’s Photo Workshop to  educate local emerging artists as well as collaborate with them.

Levi’s chose San Francisco as the first stop of its workshop movement, following the “Ready to Work” slogan, because this city is native for the brand. The Big Apple became the next one due to the fact that the megalopolis is a source of inspiration for generations of photographers and other creative minds. In early October, Levi’s will open the door of its public facilities, which will feature the whole range of elements a professional workshop must consist of—a grade studio, vintage camera rental, and «a myriad of other bits and bobs» so that the students and teachers could take stylish photos.

The launch is slated for October 7, 8:00pm—11:00pm, 18 Wooster Street—the opening will include a party and the exhibition of online gallery Tiny Vices founded by Tim Barber. The exhibition will show photos of New York from Greg Stimac, Robin Schwartz, Christine Osinski and many others.

Levi’s is also asking cultural fields, non-profit organizations, artists and the general public to come and share valuable resources with the workshop. So far, the schedule of the workshop is not unveiled, and the brand invites users to check for updates, as well as for the upcoming photo reports, on its blog.
