LG Mobile Phones is inviting creative people to step into the realm of technology. The company is arranging the third competition in a row and asks people from all round the globe to join in and show what they can. The jury will select 40 entries, and each of the designers from the short-list is to get valuable prizes.
The last year’s winner was Emily Albinski, who created a tiny Hi-Fi cell phone, which turns into a great headphone, when you turn it up. This time the winner’s contest will be prototyped for the silver screen. The brand gives the contestants a chance to feel totally free when rendering the thoughts to the sketch, so LG offers the Autodesk SketchBook Pro software for 15 days to help creators draw their designs. For boosting the process, contestants can visit the CrowdSPRING/LG competition website, where there is a lot of helpful information for them. The deadline is April 26 and the winners will be announced on May 14.
The winner will get $20,000 cash award and 1 Wacom Intuos4 medium tablet (ARV of $349) and Autodesk industrial design software (ARV of $500), the first runner-up will have $10,000 Cash Award and Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100), the second runner-up is to be awarded with $5,000 Cash Award + Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100) and the receiver of the Prop Master’s Choice is going to get $3,000 Cash Award and Autodesk SketchBook Pro software (ARV of $100) and 1 non-working concept mock-up creation (ARV of $4,000). The other entries from the top-40 will be granted $1,000 Cash Award.
