Louis Vuitton Explores the World of Board Games in the All Abroad Games Video

Louis Vuitton is continuing the visual conversation, started with hilarious guide videos to support new guide books release, with an animated story about board games. The fashion giant has released a marvelous video dubbed ‘All Abroad Games’ to pay tribute to the games, which were traditionally played during the travelling before the era of laptops and iPads.

In the 1:11 spot created by Paris-based Ill Studio popular board games including chess, card games, dice, roulette and tables have got into the spotlight in the “the fantastic and surrealist voyage inside a Louis Vuitton game case.” The video in the red-blue-yellow-white-and-black palette celebrates the legendary chess-board Damier print, which was created in 1888 and got embedded into the brand’s identity.

In the graphic video, one game easily transforms into the next one, and this means that they all have a lot in common. On its official website, the brand tells how it sees the past and present of board games: “Games have captured the ideas and behaviours of civilizations in certain periods of time and how they challenged their counterparts. Today these board games have become an expression of part of our human nature, the simple rule sets possess profound strategies. The rows of colours and symbols that have become so familiar to us, represent plans of action and chance. Board games and card games have also become a way to travel between the hours before reaching a destination. And while we transition to the different corners of the world, we pollinate the makings of a game from one country to another.”
