Louis Vuitton Released a Video Featuring Maradona, Pelé and Zidane

Louis Vuitton has joined the large-scale advertising movement, dedicated to the World Cup in South Africa. The fashion brand has launched a campaign featuring football stars of all times — Diego Maradona, Pelé and Zinédine Zidane. The campaign was led by famed portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz, who has worked with celebrities all over the world.

It took one year to get the legends together and create the video, and still it wasn’t all smooth when the shooting began on March 9. Maradona kept his colleagues waiting for 4 hours and the Brazilian and French had left Café Maravillas before he arrived. The creative group decided to take the pictures of the Argentinean alone and then insert them into the video. The original idea was that Pelé would see how his younger colleagues leave.

The spot features Pele and Zidane playing foosball, and Maradona is asking the viewers to decide who of the wins the game. People can vote at www.louisvuittonjourneys.com/legends and monitor the current results. The winner in this great game will be announced on May 17.

Antoine Arbault, marketing director, Louis Vuitton commented: «We wanted the ‘Holy Trinity’ of football. Three players who changed this sport and, furthermore, have transcended it. All three brought the World Cup to their country. They are true legends
