Macallan, a whisky brand known for its passion for the art of photography, has announced the launch of online photography competition. As reported earlier, back in December 2010, the brand introduced Macallan Masters of Photography: Albert Watson Edition, a single malt and collection of pictures taken by the master photographer Albert Watson. The black and white photos represent key moments of the trip of oak casks from the forests of Spain through to the cooperage in Jerez including breathtaking sceneries and interesting people.
Now, to enhance the photo heritage of the brand, Macallan launches an online photo contest entitled ‘Macallan Masterclass Photography Competition’. Not only master photographers, but also all amateurs are welcome to upload their pictures at the dedicated website at www.themastersofphotography.com. The only requirement set by Macallan is that the submitted works celebrate the theme of great journeys and reveal how they change human life.
The pictures submitted to date may be viewed at Macallan Masterclass at www.themastersofphotography.com/the-masterclass/s8/. All of the works by the contestants participate in online public voting. The top 10 photographs voted for by the website visitors will be judged by maestro Albert Watson who is to announce the names of three winners. Contestants taking the first, second, and third places as well as the author of the most commented picture will be awarded with special prizes from Macallan.
