MINI Pays Tribute to the British Music with the Sound of MINI Collection

To celebrate its deep connection with music since 1960’s, the British auto brand MINI launches an apparel and accessories collection for him and her —Sound of MINI. The design of the items is heavily inspired by the British culture and distinguish features of local pop music. The new collection, which is running the gamut from ‘loud’ (bold, eye-catching prints) to ‘soft’ (minimalist styles and understated looks),” is set to be available from the MINI Online Shop and selected MINI dealerships starting September 2012.

The car, which first hit the road in 1959, has become part of British culture and music life of the country, being “a favourite with pop icons such as the Beatles, David Bowie and Paul Weller ever since the 1960s,” states the press release. The new collection was designed to reflect this integration—the Men’s Sound Jacket, Men’s Sound Sweat Jacket and Ladies’ Glam Sweat Jacket, blouses and tees, hats, scarves and dresses all highlight the brand’s collection with ‘Cool Britannia’, and some of them even feature the “MINI since 1959” slogan, loudspeaker print or the Union Jack design. The collection in white, black, grey basic colours (green, pink and blue are used there as well) features both casual look items and apparel for business wardrobe, reinventing classics.

The full collection can be viewed at the official website of the brand. MINI, which celebrates music in all ways possible, hosted its fourth annual MINI United music festival earlier this year. In fact, the brand has more “hobbies” than music—it was deeply involved in the Olympic promotion of BMW as well as contributes to taking snowboarding experience to the new level (the brand is the partner of the Burton European Open).
