Nike 6.0, the extreme sportswear and gear branch of the iconic manufacturer, has been busy producing new films and arranging new projects dedicated to active lifestyle. On May 19, the brand released the recently announced ‘Leave a Message’ film, showcasing six main women of Nike 6.0 Surf as they live and perform, and a few days earlier, on May 16, it kicked off the long-awaited BMX project dubbed ‘The Pool’ in east London, Dagenham. The space, where the professional and amateur riders are showing their skills, used to be a real swimming pool, which has been remodeled by one of the world’s best skatepark designers, Dave Sowerby.

As Nike 6.0 BMX UK states, “Nike has converted Dagenham’s old 1970s public swimming pool into a unique BMX facility” in just 6 days, and to promote the new initiative, the brand released a series of retro-style vignettes featuring renowned BMX athletes who were ‘responsible’ for reopening of the pool. The brand gave 10 of the best international riders the opportunity to form their own teams of four which performed at the opening weekend at The Pool. The team of Dennis Enarson, Chad Kerley, Josh Harrington and Jeremiah Smith won the grand competition, which saw “non-comp riders, veterans, street destroyers and park animals” all threw down into something far better than the public had ever seen before.
The Pool will be opened of aspiring BMX drivers from May 21 through June 12—the brand gives 20 bikes and other equipment for free to those who will register and hand in a signed consent form, which can be found at the brand’s Facebook page. In addition to a unique opportunity to practice at such a wonderful training facility, Nike provides people who will come for a ride with a chance to win cool branded stuff and watch pro sessions.
