Nissan Invites the Fastest Man in the World to Launch ‘What if?’ Campaign Globally

Nissan is rolling out the new big campaign asking consumers ‘What if?’ globally. The futurist technology-focused campaign is a part of Nissan’s ‘Power 88’ business plan to invest in new markets and products.

The new global campaign by TBWA Worldwide that also created a strategy for Nissan using its JUKE model will roll out over the next two to three years.

On its Facebook page, Nissan asks users questions like ‘What if your car could clean the air?’; ‘What if your car could charge your house?’; and ‘What if you had no competition?’.

One of the ads promoting the new GT-R sports car features Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt on the red panel and his red GT-R against the white panel. It asks, ‘What if the world’s fastest man went even faster?’

According to Nissan, the central element of the global technology-focused campaign is airport media domination in 40 countries, says Media post. The ‘What If_’ initiative started in April at Japan’s Narita and Osaka airports and last month Nissan introduced the new video spot called ‘What if everything ran on gas?’.

The significant part of the campaign that celebrates Nissan’s sustainable attitude to nature and its electric car Leaf, is the promotion of the GT-R sports cars featuring Bolt who joined the campaign on June 1. Soon, the campaign expands globally.

During the next two years, Nissan intends to roll out TV spots, online banners, Nissan digital sites and digital and more out-of-home locations.
