Nokia’s ‘Direct and Project’ Movie Contest Winner Announced

On January 21, Nokia announced the winner of its ‘Direct and Project’ contest organized by WOMWorld. Previously, Nokia gave out 30 N8 devices to the movie producers across Canada. Their task was to create 60-second movie using the telephone, which should be displayed at Vancouver Art Gallery on January 19. And the movies were shown via HDMI-out interface.

The panel of judges consisted of media and technology professionals like the former MTV presenter, Brian Adler, two-time Music Video Award director of the year winner, RT and one of the masterminds behind Nokia: Direct & Project, Mindy Miller, who announced the winner. The first prize goes to Josephine Anderson, author of the short ‘Normal Design’ movie showing how daily routine may change unexpectedly if the world dances to the music.

Though the winner N1 is announced, the voting for the runner-ups is still open to public. Anybody has a chance to support the runners up! The top 10 videos, as voted for by the judging panel, are now available to watch via the Nokia Canada YouTube channel. The runner ups will be determined based on the the number of ‘views’ multiplied by ‘likes’.
