Old Navy Launches the Techno World Collection, Available through the End of the Festive Season

This festive season, Old Navy is launching a new apparel collection with a high tech twist. Now is the time when technology is integrated in just everything we see and use, and the clothing is no exception—BMW has proved it by unveiling the vehicle-inspired apparel pieces. The Gap’s brand Old Navy is presenting a new Old Navy’s Techno World range of clothing and accessories “with built-in technology as well as a wide range of technological gadgets,” which is appealing to both brand’s fans and geeks in the USA and Canada.

We know that technology is at the top of our customers’ wish lists this holiday season,” said Michelle Wlazlo, senior vice president, Old Navy Adult Merchandising and Brand Licensing. “From hoodies for your future rock star to earbuds for music lovers, Old Navy has something for everyone in the family.” The price of the new offering is ranging from $6.50 to $34.94—and the collection will remain on shelf only until the end of the holiday season, though the end of December.

Last year, the brand released the first item, Techno Hoodie, developed in partnership with HB3 Technology,—building on the success of this product, the brand decided to create the new collection, which merges fashion and gadgets. For instance, new Techno Hat, just like Techno Hoodie features the integrated HB3 Technology, which enables you to listen to music literally from your apparel since this clothing has specially designed earbuds and an input jack that connects with your portable media device. Consumers can wash the clothing items just like they wash any other traditional ones.

This year’s collection also includes Electronic Rock Guitar Tees and Electronic Drum Kit Tees, developed in partnership with ThinkGeek. “To bring out the rock star in everyone, both tees feature touch-sensitive technology that allow customers to literally play their shirts. Mini handheld amplifiers come with each tee so the aspiring musician can strum or drum the tee into their headphones or through a speaker,” states the press release. Consumers will also find Touch Screen Gloves that allow to use smartphones without taking off the gloves, a Frost Free Laptop Case, a blinged-out iPhone compatible case and DiscoBall Speakers.
