Today Facebook has announced it is introducing a new function that will be available to all users: an ability to tag brands on photos just the same users they tag other people.
So, if you want to tag your car’s brand on a picture of you standing near your car, you can easily do that and by tagging your vehicle and linking it to the Facebook page of car manufacturer (luckily, nowadays every car manufacturer has their page on Facebook).
Of course, that has brought about serious concern on whether this function could generate a massive amount of spam for the brands and will add a heap of work for Facebook page moderators.
However, despite all concerns and fears, Facebook has introduced this function with the aim to enhance promotional opportunities for advertisers and generate more pages for the brands. This function creates multiple opportunities for brands to launch promotional campaigns and engage Facebook users in different activities like user photo contests.
As announced previously, in April Facebook introduced Facebook Studio, an educational platform designed to cater to the needs of Facebook advertisers and inform them on the ways to better reach the consumer using the potential this social media has to offer.
