Pandora Has Launched the ‘Inside the Music’ Program Supported by Intel

Pandora, one of the most popular personalized radio services has rolled out the ‘Inside the Music’ program, in partnership with Intel. The program offers users the opportunity to explore behind-the-scenes of the Pandora Music Genome Project providing them with all necessary information on their favorite music.

The year-long program will cover different genres, starting wit rock. R&B, electronica, rap, country and classical will be rolled out later this year. It targets 18—34 aged people that are that use the Pandora ‘thumbs-up’ option. By thumbing-up a song they will see and hear an ad that will tell them about the Inside the Music program.

The 12-years old Music Genome Project is aimed to reveal listeners “a sophisticated, hand-built taxonomy of musical DNA”. It means that a team of professional musicians analyze and add tracks to the Music Genome Project one-by-one, identifying up to 450 musical attributes per recording.

Listeners will get access to educational audio shows, custom stations and interactive descriptions of their favorite tracks. They will also be able to launch new Pandora stations based on a specific track feature including guitar effects, chromatic harmonic structure and vocal harmony.
