Philips explores the theme of healthy sleep

Philips joins the team of tech brands that raise awareness of how important a healthy sleep is for everybody. The new multi-platform initiative Sleep Powers highlights the most important facts about sleep and encourages people to check if they know how to sleep healthily. The initiative was launched ahead of World Sleep Day, observed on March 14.

“Sleeping well is essential to good health and loss of quality of sleep can lead to numerous health problems such as hypertension, heart disease, stroke and diabetes,” commented Teofilo Lee Chiong, M.D., Chief Medical Liaison, Philips Home Healthcare Solutions. “The Sleep Powers initiative aims to draw more attention to the importance of a good night’s sleep and encourages better sleep as a part of a healthy lifestyle.”

The dedicated microsite where the initiative is hosted, reveals a lot of facts on how exactly sleep powers our lives, what snoring is, how to sleep better at night, how to make kids sleep when they should, guides on detecting and solving night sleep problems, and more.

Plus, anyone can grade the quality of sleep via the Sleep Power Quotient PDF quiz that uses simple questions. The test also allows to analyze how high the risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is—studies show that OSA is the one of the most common sleep disorders, and today there are around 100 million people worldwide affected by it.
