Red Bull, the energy drink brand known for its bold nature, is inviting the USA feel the spirit of Venice to the American environment. On April 14, the brand will be hosting a hilarious competition Red Bull Candola for the second year running on the New River in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where a maximum of 30 teams of three will be rowing in safe and nature-friendly entirely human-powered boats made from or inspired by Red Bull cans. Not for speed records, but for fun.

The registration for participation in the event is now closed, and the selected teams are busy constructing their boats—to get chosen, applicants had to create a stunning gondola sketch, and now they have just two months left to bring their concepts to life. The winning team, which will be determined based on creativity and showmanship (being fastest is not the key point here) will be awarded the Big Bambino title. Before the rowing race starts, each of the teams will perform a 30-second skit to win the audience and judges’ love.
“From Huizenga Plaza to Esplanade Park, this race will have you screaming, ‘Mama Mia!; The bright and boisterous gondoliers will design and construct crazy boats, row them down the 1/3-mile course to victory and bring the town together like one big happy famiglia,” says the brand on the dedicated page of the event.
