Renault MOBILIZ Will Help Cope with Poverty in France

Renault that has recently opened the Passion d’Avenir exhibit at the Futuroscope park, has launched its first social business initiative in mobility aimed to restore the autonomy of people with low incomes. Called Renault MOBILIZ, the program will offer real-life mobility service solutions, an investment company to finance mobility projects; and a partnership with the ‘Enterprise and Poverty’ Chair at HEC Paris.

This social business program will help more than eight million people living under the poverty line inFranceto overcome it and expand the boundaries of their social possibilities.

Renault MOBILIZ will support the development of new mobility platforms run by the Voiture & co organization. It will provide those in need with such services as a diagnosis of individuals’ mobility needs and a range of needs-adapted solutions, including carpooling, micro-community transport, €5-a-day car hire, and support in obtaining a driver’s permit.

People with low incomes will have the ability to repair their vehicles paying little money at volunteer Renault garages called ‘Socially Responsible Renault Garages’. A new investment company called MOBILIZ Invest will allow finance organizations and companies developing innovative mobility solutions for these people.

Becoming the third partner of the ‘Enterprise and Poverty’ Social Business Chair at HEC Paris, alongside Danone and Schneider Electric, Renault will lead the conversation on social business projects with players from civil society, public authorities.
