Samsung has unveiled its highly anticipated new smartphone, Galaxy S4, which is the lightest and the most sophisticated model in the Galaxy family. Being a successor to the company’s Galaxy S III, the new flagship phone has a sleeker and more refined design, Dual Camera, a wider 5-inch screen with 1920×1080 resolution, and a stronger textured body case. The new product, unveiled yesterday during a live-streaming show in New York, will be available in 55 countries on 327 different carriers starting April. The price hasn’t been announced yet.
The Galaxy S4 has 2GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage memory, with an additional microSD card slot. The new Android phone is powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which is almost two times stronger than the one in Apple iPhone. The Galaxy S4 is 4.6 oz, being heavier than iPhone 5, but lighter than Nokia’s Lumia 920 with its 6.5 oz. See the basic specifications of the today’s global leading smartphones compared here. With the release of the new phone, Samsung aims to both strengthen its positions on the mobile phones market, taking on its major rivals, and get into the fitness brand market with new accessories and features.

The latest mobile phone from Samsung, developed to enhance life experiences, makes it easier not only to read from the screen (with an automatic Eye Scroll) or take photos and videos (with the main and front cameras of 13 and 2 megapixels respectively), but also to keep track of daily physical activities. Along with the phone, Samsung has released a range of accessories that help stay fit: the minimalistic S Band, which measures all the body movements even when a user sleeps, the running-coach band HRM controlling the heart rate, and the Body Scale that sends weight measuring to Galaxy S4 and checks weight history.
The Galaxy S4 phone that comes in two colors, White Frost and Black Mist, is designed as a mobile device for both in home and outdoor environment. The phone can be used as a remote TV control, and it also has the HomeSync personal 1TB cloud. Its Air View and Air Gesture allow to make calls, browse the web and take photos “all with your finger barely hovering over the screen” so the phone “still responds to your touch, even when you’re wearing gloves.” The Galaxy S4 also features S Translator that recognizes voice and text and dubs it in the target language (in the audio or text format), and the S Voice drive app that converts text to speech and more.
The accessories range also includes smart and innovative S View Cover, a game pad and a wireless charging pad in addition to protective flip covers, a headset, a pouch, and an extra battery kit.
