Starbucks Introducing New RTD Iced Coffee Variety on the U.S. Market

Starbucks has launched a line of new Iced Coffee bottled beverages in select markets across the USA. Available in glass bottles, the new cold refreshments are ready to drink and can be consumed on the go.

The full-flavoured Starbucks Iced Coffee is a blend of premium brand’s coffee from Arabica beans and 2% milk. The lightly sweetened beverage can be a great natural energizer with its 50–120 calories per 325 ml bottle (depending on the offering). The range includes four varieties, Starbucks Iced Coffee + Milk, Starbucks Low Calorie Iced Coffee + Milk, Starbucks Vanilla Iced Coffee, and Starbucks Caramel Iced Coffee (available in Northeast region only). “Starbucks Iced Coffee ready-to-drink beverages are perfect on-the-go refreshment to help you through the daily commute, the midday slump, or an exciting road trip adventure with friends. Best enjoyed chilled from the bottle,” says the brand.

The minimalistic look of the easy-to-grab bottles has been developed by Starbucks’ in-house design team. The bottles are transparent, the green siren logo, calorie content and basic information («2% milk, lightly sweetened«) are featured on the front label. The variety of the beverage is indicated on the top of the bottle—brown for coffee+milk (the low calorie offering goes with a blue cap), beige for vanilla, and curcuma for caramel.

The new product will be rolled out nationwide at select groceries by April 2013. The suggested retail price of the bottled beverage, inspired by handcrafted Iced Coffees served at Starbucks venues, is $1.99.
