Diesel is going on “being stupid” by encouraging its fans to do quite smart things. The brand has come out with a new project, Facepark, which “brings the clichés of social media platforms back to the real world in a very literal way.” Diesel is inviting all internet addicts to stop wasting their life in front of the computer and go to the park to have a nice time partying with friends.
“Smart likes it digital. We officially don’t care what Smart likes or does,” states the brand in its official declaration. Still, Diesel believes that sometimes web can be a convenient place to promote good things—for example, it turns to the internet to push its life-changing project (website and Facebook page being the tools). The ultimate goal is to inspire digital residents to switch their PCs or laptops off and go out. Who knows, maybe, these online destinations will be last place on the web, where they go before joining the movement.
The hubs feature lots of videos and photos from the park events arranged by the brand, which bring fun to people with ‘blue tan’. The guests of the parties put on cardboard plates decorated as social media walls (Facebook, in particular) and by their personal example demonstrate that real activities are much better than virtual ones. «Facepark is a stupid idea that can change the world. But it probably will not. »
