The Body Shop Unveils Its Rainforest Hair Care Range and Saves Endangered Species

The Body Shop cosmetics brand has launched its new Rainforest Hair Care collection, which contains only organic ingredients and is totally safe for the hair of any type. The range has already appeared both online and in retail chain, bringing unique product to the consumers, who strive for naturalness in everything which relates to the beauty products they buy.

According to The Body Shop, the new range is based on pracaxi oil from the seeds of a tree that grows organically in the Amazonian rainforest,—this substance is used instead of silicone. Other ingredients include organic Italian olive oil, nut oil from Peru and honey from Ethiopa, and there are no dreadful sulphates, parabens and colourants, which may cause irritation or influence health in some other negative way. Thanks to its naturalness, the bio-degradable oil does not glue itself to the hair and is also completely safe to the head skin.

«The bottles are made with post-consumer recyclable material, and all the ingredients in the haircare line break down in water, so you don’t have to worry about environmental effects,» commented Sheikina Liverpool, a publicist for The Body Shop.

Paying a tribute to the native land from where they take the oil, The Body Shop has bought a part of the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest nearly 80 km northeast of Rio de Janeiro. According to Stylist, this helped the brand to provide from destructive human activities to more than 20,000 plant species and a number of endangered fauna species.
