The Microsoft Advertising Story Awards Searches for Creative Stories

Microsoft that is currently promoting its Bing search engine in a new ad campaign, has announced the launch of The Microsoft Advertising Story Awards (MSAs), a creative storytelling contest for marketers from 30 countries across the world. They are invited to submit a campaign idea for a brand or nonprofit of their choice using the Microsoft Advertising’s storytelling platforms.

Marketers can share their ideas that address a ‘key business challenge’ for that organization’s 2012 or 2013 year.  To do this, marketers should use Microsoft Advertising technology and solutions including MSN, Mobile, Windows Live, Xbox, Messenger, etc. Last date for submission of local entries is March 31, 2012. Marketers can apply here.

The competition has two stages. The first is judged on the local level, the second is a global final. Two global winners will receive the Global Microsoft Advertising Story Award for 2012. The winners also will travel as Microsoft Advertising’s VIP guests to the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2012 taking place from June 17—23 in Cannes, France.

The global judging panel members have been selected based on their professional prowess and knowledge of storytelling and include David Sable, Global CEO at Y&R who will chair the panel, Maria Luisa Francoli Plaza, Global CEO of MPG and Havas Media North America.

Microsoft Advertising created a short videostarring Felicia Day, actress and creator of ‘The Guild’ web series to help marketers better understand the advertising opportunities available to them when creating their own videos.

In addition, yesterday, Microsoft celebrated its 20th anniversary of Microsoft Certification celebration and recognized more than 7 million people globally who are certified on Microsoft technology.
