Toyota Prius to Set 200 Records during 20 Hours

Toyota Prius, a record-breaking hybrid car from the leading car manufacturer, is determined to set about 200 records in just 2 10-hour days. This interactive and fantastic event will take place on March 30 and 31, 2011 and will be available online at www.toyotapriusprojects.com for two 10-hour record-setting webcasts.

4 Prius hybrid models will participate in this record-breaking campaign: including the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and the larger Prius v. The cars will be disposed at the mercy of record-setting experts who will do the unseen tricks to set new records.

Because this is an interactive campaign, everyone is encouraged to participate in it. The public is invited to promote the event on Twitter and share their own ideas on record breaking. So far, the Prius Records  team has generated the following ideas for record-breaking:

  • Largest mural created during a 3-hour Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle charge.
  • Most pool noodles fit inside the cargo area of a Prius v.
  • Farthest launch of a gumdrop using the windshield wiper of a Prius.
  • Toyota is running this event in close copperation with www.URDB.org — an online record registering and sharing platform. URDB.org promotes its unique approach to record setting that is inclusive and based on the sense of humor.

Bob Zeinstra, national manager, advertising and strategic planning for Toyota, comments on the new campaign, «Toyota Prius Records gives us the opportunity to engage our incredibly loyal Prius owners and enthusiasts in a highly unique way. The live streaming, record-breaking approach leverages interactive technology and provides a great catalyst for community participation.»
