UNIQLO collaborates with Pharrell Williams on a collection of “i am OTHER” T-shirts

The Japanese apparel brand UNIQLO has teamed up with Pharrell Williams, a U.S. musical and fashion designer, to create a line of limited-edition “i am OTHER” T-shirts. The brand says that the concept for the collection is based on the celebrity’s shared philosophy of a creative way of life, based on art, music, apparel, film, TV, technology and multimedia. The collection got its name from Pharrell’s multimedia creative enterprise.

The line will launch globally on April 14. UNIQLO has tapped the musician not just to design the line, but also to front the new campaign as well. The brand won’t preview all “i am OTHER” items until March 31, but allows to guess the general style of the new products by taking a look at a tee which Mr. Williams is wearing in the teaser visuals.

This first “Think Other” T-shirt is slated for the early release on March 21. Only 500 T-shirts will be available for $19.90 on a first-come, first serve basis. The tee features a blue circle on the front with the “Think other” message, plus “I am OTHER” tiny lettering in the bottom of the piece (the last word is spelled with letters of different colors).

In February, Pharrell Williams announced the launch of a jeanswear line partially made from recycled plastic waste collected in the ocean.
