Wimbledon 2011: Boris Becker and Polo Ralph Lauren Serve up a Storm

Ex World No.1 tennis player and three times Wimbledon champion Boris Becker gives his predictions on Wimbledon 2011 while helping to launch The Ralph Lauren 125th Anniversary Serving Challenge.

Polo Ralph Lauren has challenged media, celebrities and the public to serve as fast as they can on a custom made virtual tennis court, modeled on Centre Court. Participants serve a tennis ball on to a projector screen and upon impact the ball transforms virtually on the exact trajectory into the virtual court while simultaneously being measured by a sophisticated speed gun. This is the first use of the technology in tennis. Impressive!

The Challenge will be launched by Polo Ralph Lauren brand ambassador Boris Becker and will take place throughout the first week of the Wimbledon Championships, says the press release. Besides, to mark the 125th celebration of the Championships fashion guru Polo Ralph Lauren have kitted out the ball boys and girls in brand new navy blue uniform. Navy blue jacket, polo shirt and shorts are adorned with ‘125th’ on the collar and the 125th logo on the arm, and the polo in particular features the Wimbledon purple and green for the first time in a ‘don’t-miss’ diagonal stripe across the middle, reports telegraph.co.uk.
